Dance Your Way Home

Visiting friends in London as a little girl, my friends loved the music we were playing in the car. We'd spend the day pretending we were in a music video, dancing around my mum's car and forgetting for the moment that we lived so far apart from each other.

We had a cassette tape that we'd pop into the car, and it would connect to a wire with an audio jack, and from my iPod Shuffle we'd play all sorts of music.

We loved one track in particular... Mason, Princess Superstar - Perfect (Exceeder).

It was amazing, those early memories of connection and friendship, built on the excitement of music. It bonded us in a special way.

Outside of this, it was Heart Radio where they'd often play the Club Classics that I loved so much. We'd be singing along in the car, sun shining through the window and enjoying the city passing by. Whether it was Roger Sanchez's "Another Chance", or Inner City's "Big Fun", I loved everything I was hearing. Little did I think that I would ever one day have the opportunity to work with so many of the people I was listening to.

Fast forward to the year 2022, and I found myself sat outside the Cafe de Doffer in Amsterdam. I've had a whirlwind of a week of non-stop networking, adventure and all night dancing... and I'm sat next to Mason himself. It feels surreal. I wonder in what Universe it's possible to be this close to the experiences and people you love.

I've always loved his sound, and in many ways have been brought up by the music he produces.

In fact, over the past couple of years, I've had the incredible pleasure of being able to help out with his record label 'Animal Language'. Never once, as a little girl, could I have imagined this would be in the cards for my future.

All I ever knew was that this music was so important to me, so integral to my nature as a person, and that I just loved it with every fibre of my being. I just kept loving it. Fearlessly.

I think this is the key. I just never realised that what you love will come and find you when the time is right.
